What we do
Our business Resource Management & Research (RMR):
Tethered Balloon Imaging Service (TEBIS) products and services
- Contracted information collection by RMR using TEBIS
- As an application which RMR will
bring to collect specific information or solve
particular problems for one of your contracts.
- Sale of complete operating package
- As a complete operating system
package with comprehensive training and back-up which
you can use to improve your own services.
- Tool for new applications and joint research
- As a tool to be developed for new applications in
TEBIS (imaging of the ground from the platform) and
TEBSASS (collection of samples and sensing of properties
of the atmosphere at the platform and along
sensor/collector arrays) modes, jointly by RMR and
Research and Teaching Institutes Agencies, for research,
development and teaching.
Leader in remote sensing since 1962
Our business Resource Management & Research (RMR) has been a
leader in using remote sensing for solving problems and
collecting information in developing tropical countries since
1962.
Develop novel solutions to remote sensing problems
We develop new methodologies for specific and unusual problems. Between 1962 to 1998 the main remote sensing platforms used were light aircraft.
Development of tethered balloon platforms since 1998
We decided to develop Tethered Balloon platforms in 1998. By
2002 we had an operational system, the Tethered Balloon Imaging
System (TEBIS), which we find replaces light aircraft for some
important applications, and has characteristics which have
opened new applications.
Organised information provider
Our core activity is to provide appropriately organized
information about:
- natural resources,
- habitats,
- population ecology of important plant and animal species,
- land and water use,
- resource user socio-economics,
- tenure,
- livelihood systems,
- demographics and capacities,
on the national scale for general planning, and on smaller
scales for project-specific environmental and social impact
assessments.
